Man carried out of Laguna Hills home during garage fire – Orange County Register 1

A man was carried out of a Laguna Hills home and a woman walked out with assistance after a fire broke out in their garage on Tuesday night, Dec. 19, authorities said.

Orange County firefighters responded to the 25000 block of Mawson Drive shortly before 9 p.m. and found the garage on fire, with the home threatened.

Firefighters, Orange County sheriff’s deputies and a neighbor helped get a man and woman – described by officials as elderly – out of the house, Capt. Sean Doran said.

Firefighters then aggressively attacked the fire, knocking it down in about 12 minutes while preventing it from spreading to the home, Doran said. No one else was inside.

In the backyard, firefighters found a family dog uninjured. The man and woman were taken to a hospital for evaluation, firefighters said.

The cause and origin of the fire were under investigation.
