The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce will honor Patricia Box as its 2024 Citizen of the Year at its annual installation and Citizen of the Year awards banquet.

The event will be held 5:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at the March Field Air Museum.

Box, a graduate of the University of Redlands and resident of Moreno Valley for nearly 40 years, has been a member of Soroptimist International of Moreno Valley for more than 20 years.

She has served seven terms as president of the local club and 14 terms in other club leadership roles and is in her fourth year on the board of directors of Soroptimist International of the Americas Golden West Region, according to a news release.

Box also serves as local club chairman for the Soroptimist “:Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls” program.

Since 2016, Soroptimist International of Moreno Valley has mentored girls at Moreno Valley Unified School District’s Bayside Community Day School and March Mountain High School on setting and achieving goals, discovering career opportunities and more, according to the news release.

Box has been a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church since 1985 and has been involved for 33 years with the church’s ministry to the sick and homebound within the parish community and others at hospitals and assisted living facilities, according to the news release.
